Immerse yourself and celebrate the solstice energies in this creative gathering as you birth your own sacred medicine tool.   The exact time of this year's summer solstice is  21.50pm BST on 20th June, but we will still be in the influence of this for around 3 days, since 'solstice' means standing sun.  What better time to bring these energies into birthing your own vibrational sacred medicine tool which is imbued with your own intent and energy signature.   

I will guide and encourage you throughout the weekend as you use traditional methods in making your special drum.  We honour the spirits of  both the animal and the tree, beginning with a shamanic journey and exploring  how and why drums have been used throughout human history, and why they are as still as relevant today.  

Day one will see you choose and work with the hoop as we dive into key teachings from the tree and enjoy a tree connection exercise outside.  You'll also sand, hone and create your own drum beater before selecting and preparing the hide that you will be working with on day two.  You'll then be able to spend the evening under the stars as you pitch up and enjoy sitting round the firepit.

Gathering in sacred circle again, day two begins with guidance on working with your soaked hide as you begin the process of cutting both the drum circle and lacing.    You'll receive guidance during every part of the process of bringing the hide and hoop together - joining the energy of both wood and hide to birth a new life.  This is where the alchemy happens, as you birth your unique energy signature. We'll work at the pace that's right for you and you'll be encouraged to take photos so that you'll have a lasting record of every stage of the process.

The weekend completes with a ceremonial shamanic journey and blessing as you welcome, honour and connect with the spirit of your drum.  You'll also take home a Care of Your Shamanic Drum card.

Notes

1. Camping is in our grass paddock  and you will need to bring all your own camping equipment, clothing, food and towels. 
2. There is access to water in the paddock, and the firepit will be available for your use on the patio area, which has outdoor seating.  
3. You can choose to cook and dine in Shaman's Retreat or eat al fresco around the fire
4. Access to toilet and shower is included in the camping price but please bring your own towels
5. The times are a general guide and will continue until everyone has birthed their drum. 
6. Please wear comfortable casual clothing and suitable outdoor wear for the prevailing conditions
7. Please bring a large towel to wrap your completed drum in, and an apron or old cloth to protect your clothing if desired
